PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation have arrested a suspect in the shooting death of an 11-year-old boy.

Zander Whatley of Douglasville was fatally shot on the night of April 29 when someone fired into his home on Ruth Way. His funeral was held by his family this past weekend.

On Tuesday, the sheriff’s office announced that they have arrested one suspect and are actively searching for two more individuals in connection with Whatley’s death.

Authorities reported that 18-year-old Osman Sesay was arrested in Charlotte, N.C., on May 11 during a traffic stop. He is currently awaiting extradition to Georgia.

“I am grateful to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department for their swift action and helping to take this dangerous individual into custody,” said Sheriff Gary Gulledge in a statement.

Deputies are also seeking two other suspects, 19-year-olds Al-Hamid Ibrahim Kuyateh and Nazier Lloyd Anderson. Both are considered armed and dangerous.

The U.S. Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force is assisting in the search for the two fugitives.

Anyone who spots Kuyateh or Anderson is urged to contact local law enforcement immediately and to avoid approaching them. Those with information on their whereabouts should call the sheriff’s office.
