15-Year-Old Charged in Fatal Southwest Atlanta Shooting

ATLANTA — Police are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a 34-year-old man in southwest Atlanta on Friday evening.

The incident occurred around 5:13 p.m. at a home in the 1600 block of Kenmore Street SW, near Cascade Avenue SW.

Officers with the Atlanta Police Department (APD) arrived at the scene and discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.

On Saturday, APD officers apprehended a 15-year-old suspect in connection with the shooting. The teenager has been charged with robbery and murder.

The APD Homicide Unit is continuing its investigation to determine the circumstances leading up to the fatal shooting. Further details have not been disclosed.
