In Titusville, Florida, a 19-year-old individual, Vance Shannon, was apprehended on Thursday evening for a series of destructive and violent acts. The Titusville Police Department reports that Shannon vandalized Christmas decorations, used his vehicle to cause further damage, and engaged in a shooting incident.
The incident commenced on Fuji Drive around 9:15 p.m., as per the probable cause affidavit. Shannon, along with a female accomplice, initially assaulted a homeowner.
After removing Christmas lights from the victim's house, Shannon fled in his car, pursued by the homeowner. The confrontation escalated when Shannon brandished a firearm and threatened the homeowner. He then returned to the victim's residence, continuing to wreak havoc on the Christmas decor.
In an attempt to protect his family, the homeowner used his truck to collide with Shannon's vehicle. This altercation led to further violence when Kaylee Storm, identified as the woman accompanying Shannon, attacked the homeowner with a knife, injuring his left hand. During this confrontation, Shannon fired multiple shots from his vehicle towards the homeowner, striking the truck multiple times but missing the homeowner himself.
The situation intensified when Shannon exited his vehicle, aiming the gun directly at the homeowner's head and firing a shot, which fortunately missed. Shannon and Storm then fled the scene, leaving behind the car's grill and Storm's purse, which contained identification for both individuals.
Police later apprehended Shannon and Storm at Storm's residence. While Storm's charges have not been detailed, Shannon faces several serious accusations, including attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and criminal mischief.
