In a tragic incident, a woman and three children lost their lives in what seems to be a quadruple murder-suicide at a residence in the northwest area of
Oklahoma City. The distressing event came to light around 11:30 p.m. when a family member entered the home near the intersection of Melrose Lane and Rockwell Avenue. Inside, they discovered a woman and three children with gunshot wounds, alongside a man who had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. The woman and two children were declared deceased at the scene, while the third child passed away later in a hospital.
The individual suspected of committing the quadruple murder was also found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Despite being transported to a hospital, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by the police.
Captain Valerie Littlejohn of the Oklahoma City Police Department conveyed that the family member who arrived at the scene initially found multiple deceased family members within the residence. The unfolding scenario strongly suggests a murder-suicide attempt, with the adult male suspect taking his own life after allegedly causing harm to the victims.
The victims were identified by the Oklahoma City Police Department as Cassandra Flores (29 years old), Hillary Armendariz (9 years old), Damaris Armendariz (5 years old), and Matias Armendariz (2 years old). The suspect behind the tragic incident was identified as Ruben Armendariz (28 years old).
Initial investigations point to a marital relationship between Cassandra Flores and Ruben Armendariz, although they were separated, as indicated by a news release. Authorities believe that Ruben
Armendariz may have been responsible for shooting the victims before ultimately ending his own life. The investigation is still in its early stages, with detectives striving to piece together the events leading up to this heartbreaking quadruple murder-suicide.
