Four individuals have been apprehended in connection with the disappearance of two women last spotted in Texas County, Oklahoma.
Taken into custody were Tad Bert Cullum, 43, Tifany Machel Adams, 54, Cole Earl Twombly, 50, and Cora Twombly, 44, on Saturday in Texas and Cimarron counties.
They were incarcerated at the Texas County Jail on charges including two counts of murder, two counts of kidnapping, and one count of conspiracy to commit murder.
When asked by KVII if this indicates the belief that the suspects kidnapped and murdered Veronica Butler and Jilian Kelley, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation responded, "Based on information and evidence obtained during the course of the investigation, we believe it was appropriate to charge all four suspects with murder," said Hunter McKee.
McKee also mentioned they are still in pursuit of Butler and Kelley. Initially, on Saturday, McKee expressed hopefulness that the women were still alive.
However, Kelley's mother, Kalie Dalbey, disclosed on Facebook that her daughter had passed away.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol retracted the "endangered missing advisory" issued for the two women. The alert was activated on March 30 when Butler and Kelley were reported missing.
According to OSBI, the duo was en route from Kansas to collect Butler's children for a birthday celebration but never reached the designated location.
Their vehicle was discovered abandoned close to Highway 95 and Road L, approximately three miles north of Eva. Investigators examining the scene found evidence suggesting foul play.
