6-year-old boy hit by train in west Georgia, police say

On Monday in Columbus, Georgia, a 6-year-old child suffered injuries after being struck by a train, as confirmed by local authorities.


This incident transpired at approximately 5:27 p.m. EDT, in the 700 block of Terminal Court, according to the Columbus Police Department and as reported by the Ledger-Enquirer newspaper.


In response to the situation, the child was promptly transported to an Atlanta-area hospital via life-flight, as detailed by WTVM. However, the exact nature and severity of the boy's injuries, along with his current condition, remain undisclosed at this time, as per WRBL-TV.


While the incident is under investigation, the police have yet to provide any information regarding the circumstances leading to the encounter between the child and the train, as stated in the Ledger-Enquirer's report.
