7 gang members convicted of breaking into 50 cars across Cherokee County

Cherokee County Gang Members Receive Prison Sentences for String of Burglaries


CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — The Cherokee County District Attorney's Office has announced that a group of seven individuals, believed to have affiliations with gangs, will be heading to prison. Prosecutors have revealed that during two separate nights in June and July 2019, around 50 cars were targeted and broken into in various neighborhoods across Cherokee County.


The gang members managed to steal a total of five firearms, three vehicles, and several personal belongings during their crime spree. However, their luck ran out when six of them were apprehended early one July morning while attempting to continue their illegal activities.


The individuals arrested were identified as follows:

- Tyjuan "TK" Shecorn Burch, 22

- Quinn "Chucky" Chajuan Dawson, 23

- Jacquez "Joc" Daquan Ivey, 23

- Darell "Rell" Marrion, 21

- Two juveniles


During the prosecution process, the Cherokee County District Attorney's office discovered information about three additional suspects who were involved in the crimes. These suspects were named as:


- Johnmarvalious "Wixked" Givens, 22

- Quanjavis "Boochie" Jawayne Jones, 21

- Detravious "Trey" Long, 22


All seven adult individuals pleaded guilty to violating the RICO Act, a law designed to combat organized crime. However, it remains unclear whether the two juvenile offenders were tried in connection with the case.


The subsequent court hearings resulted in the following sentences for the adult defendants:

- Tyjuan "TK" Shecorn Burch pleaded guilty to violating the RICO Act and received a 20-year sentence, with the first 10 years to be served in prison.


- Quinn "Chucky" Chajuan Dawson pleaded guilty to violating the RICO Act and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was sentenced to 20 years, with the first 15 years to be served in prison.


- Jacquez "Joc" Daquan Ivey pleaded guilty to violating the RICO Act and theft by taking. He received a 20-year sentence, with the first 10 years to be served in prison.


- Darell "Rell" Marrion pleaded guilty to violating the RICO Act and was sentenced to 20 years, with the first 12 years to be served in prison.
