Lancaster, Texas - A man from North Texas has admitted his guilt in the murder of a youth football coach during a game that took place in Lancaster the previous year.
Yaqub Talib has been sentenced to 37 years behind bars due to his involvement in the shooting death of Michael Hickmon, aged 43.
The incident unfolded at a youth football match last August, where both Yaqub Talib and his brother, retired NFL cornerback Aqib Talib, were present.
Eyewitnesses recounted that a confrontation erupted between the Talib siblings and Hickmon, sparked by a disagreement over a referee's decision.
As the altercation escalated, Yaqub Talib allegedly fired a shot at Hickmon, in full view of multiple children, including Hickmon's 9-year-old son.
Following the sentencing, friends and family members of Hickmon were given the opportunity to directly address Talib.

He has faced arrests in Dallas and Collin counties on various charges, including aggravated assault, child endangerment, and drug possession.
