Atlanta mother charged with murder in death of her infant, police say

In Atlanta, a mother, Doneish'a Speight, has been taken into custody in connection with her infant's death, according to the Atlanta Police Department. Responding to a report on Oct. 1 at the Woodland Heights apartment complex, officers discovered a non-responsive baby. Although initially there were no suspicions of foul play, Speight was later arrested and faces charges of felony murder and first-degree child cruelty. Details regarding the baby's age and the cause of death have not been disclosed.
