Baltimore County Mother Charged with Murder of 11-Year-Old Daughter
BALTIMORE COUNTY — A 34-year-old woman has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of her 11-year-old daughter, Baltimore County police announced.
Officers responded to a cardiac arrest call on January 23 at a home in the 2000 block of Firethorn Road in Middle River. Upon arrival, Keyona Dillon informed a neighbor that her daughter, London Olsen, was dead in the basement.
Police found Olsen’s body on the basement floor, along with a plastic drain cleaner with small spikes nearby. Detectives determined that the ligature marks on Olsen’s neck matched the spikes on the cleaner, leading them to believe it had been used to strangle her.
While investigating, police spoke with Dillon’s five-year-old daughter, who revealed that Dillon had killed the family pets—two cats, a rabbit, and a dog—the day before. The child reported that Dillon used a hammer and her knee to kill the animals, later placing their remains in a plastic bin in the kitchen trash. Authorities confirmed the presence of the dead animals as described.
According to court documents, Dillon initially displayed erratic behavior and refused to cooperate when questioned. During subsequent interviews, she made unsubstantiated claims, including accusations of people trying to set her up. She also alleged her daughter was involved in inappropriate relations, which detectives found no evidence to support.
Dillon reportedly admitted to killing the animals to threaten Olsen during an argument and to compel her to “tell the truth.” She claimed the only injuries on Olsen were bruises and marks around her neck.
Investigators found no signs of forced entry into the home, and authorities confirmed that only Dillon and her children were present during the incident.
Dillon remains in custody as the investigation continues.
