Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Suspect Involved in Church Burglary

EAST ELMHURST, Queens - Law enforcement officials are seeking the cooperation of the community to identify and apprehend an individual responsible for breaking into a church in Queens. The incident resulted in the theft of religious artifacts with an estimated value of nearly $900.

According to authorities, the burglary occurred on May 18 at approximately 5:30 a.m. at a place of worship situated at 25-02 80th Street.

Investigations reveal that the suspect gained unauthorized entry by utilizing tools to force open an internal door. Once inside, the burglar seized $60 in cash along with various statues and religious items amounting to approximately $890 in value. Notably, these stolen articles were intended for sale by the church.

After committing the crime, the suspect hastily fled in a southerly direction towards 30th Avenue.

Fortunately, there were no individuals present within the church premises during the incident.

Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the suspect's identity or whereabouts to come forward and assist in the investigation. Cooperation from the public can greatly aid law enforcement in bringing the perpetrator to justice.
