Chicago - Francisco Benitez, who has been behind bars for 34 years for a murder he did not commit, is expected to be released soon. Convicted at 19, new evidence has now exonerated him.

A recent hearing uncovered proof of his innocence, implicating Chicago police detectives Jerome Bogucki and Raymond Schalk in the wrongful conviction. The same detectives have previously been linked to two other discredited murder cases, where they were accused of coercing witnesses and manufacturing evidence. Benitez may regain his freedom as early as today.

That is fucked up, damn near every week you can read about someone being wrongfully convicted who has been fucked out of decades of their lives, by some rotten ass, low down, no good ass police officer and nothing ever happens to the rotten ass cops who put them there. There needs to be accountability for messing over peoples lives like that. This shit is ridiculous!!
