Florida mother facing murder charge in horrific death of 4-year-old son

A mother from Florida is facing charges related to the brutal murder of her 4-year-old son, who authorities say was subjected to severe abuse. Patricia Saintizaire, 36, is accused of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, and witness tampering, according to Polk County Sheriff's Office officials.

Authorities were notified on May 2 by Orlando Health hospital staff, who reported that the child had died under suspicious circumstances. The boy had been flown to the hospital due to an abdominal hemorrhage, and an autopsy revealed a deep laceration on his liver from a targeted blunt force trauma.

The boy also showed signs of recent scars and bruises on his arms and legs, indicating abuse. His teenage brother found him unable to walk or sit up by himself. When the child became unresponsive, the older sibling attempted CPR and urged Saintizaire to take him to the hospital.

The older brother claimed Saintizaire told him to remain silent during questioning to protect her from legal consequences, and she allegedly threatened his life. Investigators discovered that Saintizaire, from Davenport, had adopted the boy from Haiti in 2023.

Saintizaire repeatedly denied using physical discipline on the child, but detectives found two troubling videos from the home’s surveillance system. One video showed Saintizaire striking the boy with an unknown object while he lay unresponsive on the floor. Another video captured her throwing the boy into a pool with his hands tied behind his back.
