CHICAGO - A woman from Georgia has been extradited to Illinois and is facing murder charges related to the fatal shooting of another woman last year in South Chicago.
Shaunaria Watson, 31, is accused of fatally shooting 26-year-old Erica Fay Reed on May 12, 2023, on South Commercial Avenue, as reported by authorities from the Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Watson was taken into custody in Dekalb County, Georgia, and transported to Chicago on Tuesday. She faces a single felony charge of first-degree murder.
A detention hearing for Watson is set to take place on Wednesday.
