Two Women Attacked, Robbed in Chicago Train Pedway; Police Seek Suspects
CHICAGO — Four men attacked and robbed two women in the Jackson pedway connecting Blue Line and Red Line trains in the Loop, according to Chicago police. Surveillance images of the suspects were released on Saturday, showing one suspect smiling and another appearing to raise his drink.
The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, when the men approached the women in the pedway. The victims attempted to walk around them, but a “physical altercation ensued,” police said. The suspects ripped a purse away from one woman, and when she tried to retrieve it, at least one of the men punched her and threw her into a wall.
Chicago police have provided descriptions of the suspects:
• Suspect 1: African American male, 25-30 years old, 6’01” to 6’03”, 170-195 lbs, light facial hair on his chin, short dreads, wearing a black coat, light-colored hoodie, gray pants, and black gym shoes.
• Suspect 2: African American male, 25-30 years old, 5’08” to 5’10”, long dreads, mustache, wearing a yellow and black hoodie, black jacket, light jeans, and black shoes.
• Suspect 3: African American male, 25-30 years old, wearing a gray puffy jacket, light blue jeans, and black shoes.
• Suspect 4: African American male, 25-30 years old, 6’00” to 6’03”, wearing a black jacket, gray backpack, gray hoodie, black ripped pants, and black gym shoes with white laces.
The Chicago Police Department’s Mass Transit Unit is seeking assistance in identifying the suspects. Anyone with information can contact detectives at 312-745-4447 and reference case number JJ-126300.
