MOM KILLED BOYFRIEND, PUSHED DAUGHTERS OUT ON 405, DIED IN REDONDO BEACH CRASH: LAPD

WOODLAND HILLS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The tragic sequence of events involving the deaths of a baby and a couple in Los Angeles County is now under investigation as a murder-suicide. Initial reports indicate that the woman, identified as Danielle Cherakiyah Johnson, 34, allegedly stabbed her live-in boyfriend to death in their Woodland Hills apartment around 3:40 a.m.Following the alleged stabbing, Johnson left the scene with her two daughters, who reportedly witnessed the violence. She then forced the two girls out of her vehicle on the 405 Freeway in Westchester.


Sadly, during the ordeal, the older girl, aged 9, was holding the 8-month-old baby when they were ejected from the SUV onto the freeway. The baby was subsequently struck by a passing vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.Johnson continued driving, eventually crashing her Porsche SUV into a tree at high speed in Redondo Beach, resulting in her own death.




It's been revealed that Johnson had been residing in Woodland Hills with her partner, 29-year-old Jaelen Chaney, and they had been in a relationship for several years. Johnson was also in the process of divorcing another man, who is the father of her 9-year-old daughter.Neighbors reported hearing a disturbance coming from the couple's apartment before the fatal stabbing occurred. The aftermath was described as a bloody scene, with a trail of blood leading from the apartment to the elevator.


Authorities believe Johnson left the scene of the stabbing with her daughters, causing damage to the apartment gate as she departed. The incident on the 405 Freeway, where the children were forced out of the vehicle, is under investigation by law enforcement.


The surviving 9-year-old girl, who witnessed the violence, is now in the custody of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.The California Highway Patrol has appealed to the public for any information regarding the incident on the 405 Freeway. Those with relevant information are urged to contact CHP Detective E. Kim at the Southern Division Major Crimes Unit.
