In Memphis, Tennessee, a 55-year-old man, Timothy Moore, is facing several charges, including first-degree murder, for the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old. The incident occurred near a Sonic Drive-in on Kirby Parkway, close to Kirby High School, as reported by the Memphis Police.
On November 3, officers found the teenager with a chest gunshot wound. He was taken to Regional One Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. A witness at the scene described seeing a man in a red SUV shooting the teenager and then firing at him as he fled.
Surveillance footage showed a Ford Edge with a temporary tag leaving the area. Further investigation led to a man who claimed he drove Moore to confront the teenager, accusing him of car burglary. Moore was later identified by this individual in a police photo lineup.
Earlier that day, a theft from a vehicle was reported, which corroborated the witness's testimony after police interviewed the car's owner. It was also discovered that Moore had a criminal history, including convictions for attempted first-degree murder and aggravated robbery in 2004, leading to an 18-year sentence. Current bond information for Moore is not available.
