New Haven Woman Arrested in Fatal January Shooting of Delivery Driver
NEW HAVEN — Lashae Moore, 21, has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting in New Haven’s Newhallville neighborhood. Moore faces multiple charges, including murder, murder during the commission of a felony, criminal possession of a pistol, criminal possession of ammunition, and carrying a pistol without a permit.
The charges stem from the death of Raviteja Koyyada, a 26-year-old Hamden man. According to New Haven police spokesperson Christian Bruckhart, officers responded to a 911 call around 3:58 p.m. on January 19. The call reported an individual lying on the road near Shepard Street and Goodrich Street.
Upon arrival, authorities found Koyyada unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Investigators determined that Koyyada, a delivery driver for a Chinese food restaurant, was shot while making a delivery to a residence on Shepard Street. His car was stolen but was found shortly after parked and unoccupied nearby.
Moore’s arrest follows a detailed investigation by local detectives.
