A teacher in Kingwood, West Virginia, Cassandra Diann Sisler, is under scrutiny for allegedly using duct tape to silence a student in class. She has been formally charged with child abuse resulting in injury.

Reports indicate that during a class session, Sisler placed duct tape over the student's mouth, stretching from one ear to the other.

The child claimed that after removing the tape, his lips felt sore. Further allegations arose when the student reported another incident on the following day where his wrists were bound with duct tape, and Sisler used a stronger tape to wrap around his head, covering his mouth and shoulders.

While the Preston County superintendent acknowledged being informed about the accusations and having reached out to law enforcement, he did not confirm Sisler's current employment status with the school.
